Here's a simple to implement trick that will allow you to set your entire product to coming soon. Why would you want to do this? Well, if you want store visitors to see your catalog before your ready to sell.
Another benefit to putting your catalog live in your store before you are ready to sell is that the search engines can start indexing your products and you can see how they will look.
Here's what it will look like in your store. Of course, this will vary by theme. The theme in this example is Turbo.

Here are the steps you need to take to implement this.
First, you need to make sure that all of your products and variants have these inventory settings:
- Set the Inventory Policy to Shopify tracks this product's inventory
- Set the Inventory Quantity to 0
- Uncheck Allow customers to purchase this product when it's out of stock
One easy way to set these setting across the entire catalog is using the bulk editor. Just use this link to open the bulk editor with the right fields selected. Just be sure to replace 'my-store' in the url with your Shopify store handle.

Now, the last step is to change the Sold Out text to say Coming Soon (or whatever you want in that place). This is done under Online Store > Themes. Click the Actions button for your Current Theme and select Edit Languages.
And now your store will show all of your products with the Coming Soon messaging. So visitors can browse the catalog but not buy anything yet.
And when you do want to start selling all you will need to adjust your inventory and change the language setting back to Sold out.
