Hello, I'm Scott Austin, owner of JadePuma.
I've been involved in eCommerce and technology for decades. I've held a wide variety of different roles that have given me a broad view on how to make all sorts of businesses succeed. As such, I'm a jack-of-all-trades that can help your business get to the next level regardless of where your business is at today.
One of my joys outside of work is coaching kids in Roller Derby as a way to give back to the community.
Here are a few milestones from my career.
Here's the first website that I built for a company in 1994. There were less than 20,000 websites at that time. (Now, there are almost 2 billion websites.) Yes, this is what websites looked like in the days of dial-up modems.
In 2005 at MSN Shopping, we expanded our catalog from 40,000 products to 4 million. I led a redesign of the site that goes from a ever-scrolling page to everything fitting above the fold. Engagement improves by 50%.
I led the business team for Games Marketplace. In 4 years, we grew from $80M to $800M in annual sales (in the middle of the Great Recession). Growth was achieved by a combination of new product lines, pricing strategies and marketing promotions.
In 2014, I launched my first store on Shopify for my previous company, Obrary. We made and sold personalized products.
In 2017, I helped Bullets2Bandages, a business we had been working with for over 2 years, move to Shopify Plus. The main reason for the migration was the ease of cart scripts for discounts, promotions and wholesale.
